Senior IT SW Development Manager

  • Partner with Technology Officer, Architects, Product Management, UX Designers, Engineers, Business stakeholders to create product roadmaps and release schedules
  • Provide solutions by studying existing technology architecture; analyzing browser compatibility techniques; evaluating solution alternatives; developing prototypes; and writing detailed technical requirements
  • Help development teams tackle challenging problems by having a bias for action, including breaking problems into workable chunks, using iterative development, and leveraging software architecture design patterns
  • Champion Agile methodologies including the Scrum framework; leverage Agile practices to creating repeatable and predictable software releases
  • Identify software delivery problems within squads and use your knowledge and experience to help resolve issues
  • Delegates tasks to, organizes, mentors, and motivates a team of talented software developers
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of technology and instils the principles of this culture in a team
  • Ensures that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlines;
  • Communicate project status and escalate issues to direct managers, product management, and internal development partners
  • Provides detailed and timely status updates to Senior Management
  • Define metrics for all development teams, oversee implementation of metrics measurement and report on KPIs to executive leadership
  • Helps establish and enhance development policies, procedures, and standards and enforces their implementation upon their team of developers;
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions
  • Maintains technical knowledge and understanding of the latest development methodologies and best practices by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations;
  • Ensures quality and consistency throughout the architecture and implementation of the codebase
  • Acts as a highly competent advisor to their manager and team;
  • Accomplishes department and organization missions by completing related tasks as needed;
  • Helps developers resolve employment issues and requests including schedule management, time-off requests, and conflict resolution;
  • Provide people management for team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, motivating, rewarding, and career development
